Thanks so much for the advice. But I really do not know what to specifically ask for, what should be in my wanted ad, as description so one of you knows the exact starts I am looking for.

I might seem ignorant in this and thought; this is the part number, therefore I need that part again. but never knew this would end up in a masters degree mopar search  8)

dutch i just had a quiet moment and called my local re-builder. he doesn't have one ready to go. he can build one from an in house core or rebuild your original. the rebuild price is $125 usd. if he builds from his core the core charge is $75 usd. so you check freight from you to 03053 zip code, Londonderry New Hampshire usa. if you want it can be done either way. ship twice and no core charge or ship once with core charge. don't forget you incoming tax when i ship back to you.

i have been dealing with him for 30 plus years a as a professional mechanic. i can still say his failure rate to me can be counted on one hand.

Just post an ad that says,

"WANTED: Original-type small-frame, 3.5:1 starter for my 1964 Slant-Six.
I'm in the Netherlands, so it will need to be shipped.
Thank you!"

Or take eric22t up on his offer.

Dutch, that sounds like a terrific offer! Probably the best way forward. Have him build it with an original-type field coil (3 series coils + shunt, that's this set) to preserve the cranking speed and sound you want.

Fantastic. I rang him up yesterday and he already knew why I called. Thanks Eric. There is a lot negative about internet, but this is why it is great !!

well after a few fits and starts due to spoken language issues and a tech challenged old timer(yes dana i mean you lol)

dutch has a freshly rebuilt 3250 small frame starter heading across the pond.

i will note that dana needs to restock some of those wear parts as he used the last of what he had building dutch's starter

now we just need to wait on the postal service and customs
so dutch can tell us it sounds just like it use to

Well I received the starter and it works like a charm!!

Besides the customs ripping me off with an additional €186 tax (note to self, next time I need a part from the US I need to ask for a bill not exceeding $50…) :-)

I am really, Really, happy with the help I got here with describing and finding out what I exactly needed and I got what I wanted. This is the best internet can do!

Big big thanks. Just drove an hour, it is 85 degrees here and enjoyed every minute of it

Great result — I can tell by the sound that the builder did a careful job and used the correct field coils.

I know by now if you say so it is so ;-)

Very very pleased with it. Drove again today about 80km with it. Even with 96F through city center and several times had to park and start again. The car did excellent and started fantastic. The downside; I am as red as the car is after a couple hours in the car but every kilometer with a smile. Topic closed!
