Dear Slant 6ers,

It would be nice to have a Slant 6 race this year that could draw a large number of cars from all over. I think this would best be "centrally" located so that many racers could come, and we would work to encourage a bunch of people to come, race, and enjoy each others' company. By centrally I mean accessible to both Atlantic/coast/southeast people and midwesterners.

I am happy to help with organizing this and encouraging turnout.

Who has thoughts about where to host this, when, racing formats, payouts, ways to encourage participation...?? Tell your friends to come on and share thoughts.

Thanks for reading and I hope we can do this!

Lou Madsen

I have always wanted to go to MIR in Budds Creek, MD. It is not central, however, at 45' elevation, it could be good for records and such.

I currently have a broken car. I have parts for upgrades to get it running, but I have yet to dedicate the time for such things.

I'm kind of interested, but can't commit to anything right now.

Thanks everyone.

Stan, I did get the list. Thanks again! It has been unrolled on the hood of a certain 1962 Valiant for the last 2 weeks... Fun to look at and think about.

Cheers, Lou

We could possibly be interested, but we live pretty far northeast of most planters, would entertain the race
Mandi is still full steam ahead on running her car......

I will be home at the end of June and should be able to make pretty much any race.
I will coordinate a Clay City race if there is interest.

Clay City would be probably "central" enough. I would try and make it if it was there.

I was also thinking Clay City as the most ideal location. I can also coordinate or help coordinate with the track. Probably late June, late August or September would be best? Interested to hear what others think. I think we should also get some phone/text/email word spreadin' going with those who do not come to this site. Should do FABO and Facebunk too.

Here is what I see.
We need a roll call of folks who could race.
Then throw out a list of tracks.
Then if we get that far, put a date on it.

The Mopar Max race in Iowa will be held in August this year. Actual date isn't posted yet, but probably shouldn't compete with it.

Thanks everybody for your ideas! I will probably make a poll that has some "ifs" and see what we get. Can make some phone calls too. I'd like to commitments from at least a dozen people/cars (preferably more!) and we can work the location and timing to get that many or more.

I wonder what people would think about Indy or Columbus? Just spitballin.

Slant on,
Lou

I know there are cars in the mid west, they just are being quite, are they running or just parked?
I tried to beat the bushes for Tulsa or Mokan, did not get much interest.
I don't think the Kendalls are racing now and Team Green, I hear they are going around in circles.

I don't know about any thing further then about roughly 8-900 miles from me, and that's a push. I'll try and get Steve Adams to make whatever race we go with. Maybe his son, also.
