Hey hoarders, I need a chunk of aluminum plate to make an adaptor.
I am going to weld it so I don't want to use any cast metal.
Also going to tap holes so no space age metal either.

5 X 6 and a 1/2 inch thick.

Any stuff in your scrap metal piles?

Thanks in advance.

I may be able to cut a piece out of a big plate I have. Need to look at what I have. When do you want/need it? Call/text me on Saturday to remind me if I've not responded.
Lou

Hi Stan,
No 1/2" thick stuff in my scrap pile.

Check with your local fab/machine shops to see what they would sell you.

McMaster-Carr has it, but it's salty.

You might also look on Ebay and Amazon.

Stan if Lou doesn't have any I can get a piece cheap. Would take a couple days to stop by the welding shop. I will also check my pile.

Folks, I mocked up the base plate and I seem to think I might need to be closer to 1 inch.
I could weld the 1/2 to the manifold and then add a 1/2 spacer between the base and the carb flange.
This is a Holley Progressive 350 2 barrel.
Not a Weber, a real Holley.
If y'all come up with some scrap let me know.

Why so thick? Maybe take 5/16" or 3/8" thick, then drill and tap for studs and put a spacer between the carb and plate. Easy to find cheap spacers for that carb, I think.

The sideways linkage swings through a big arc and it's on the manifold.
I have only found decent spacers adapters at speedway motors.

Check with Metals Depot, see what they have for You, I've sourced from them for years...

Now that you need 1" instead of 1/2" I have some.

Send me a message etc and we can work something out.
