I might be the last one to know this, but if anyone is looking for a brass-terminal distributor cap, and not a fan of the tan and blue Blue Streak ones, the Wells(division of NTK, aka WVE) 3D1069A cap and rotor kit is black. It's listed as being gray on Rock Auto's website, but I've ordered them twice now and they are definitely black..

How carefully are they made these days? Specifically, is the cap ground on-centre so all six contacts are the same size? Details in this long (but worthwhile) thread.

I had seen that article previously, I'm not sure about that part.. I would like to think NTK is still the good stuff..

We'd all like to think good-quality parts are still available, and are indicated by whatever which brand or manufacturer name.

Those days are gone, even for high-volume parts for recent cars, and especially for low-volume, low-margin parts for old cars. Don't guess or assume, look and check and measure!

I stocked up with new but old eBay stock that was made 30-40 years ago. I don't care what color the distributor cap is as long as it works.
