There are no OE 2-barrel carburetors for an '85. Only 1-barrel carburetors were installed at the factory on Slant-6 engines in 1985.

"Elec ck" I assume means "electric choke" (you can go ahead and spell it on out; you aren't being charged by the letter to post on here  ). This, too, is not applicable when shopping for a Slant-6 carburetor. Almost all Slant-6 applications, including your '85, use a remote choke setup; the choke is not part of the carburetor. You can certainly install an electric choke kit; which one depends on what carburetor you wind up with.

OEM carb for any /6 besides some industrial versions (generator, farm implement etc) all have electric portion of the choke in the manifold connected to carb by a rod not the "black dial" type. Not saying you couldn't retrofit something like that to your engine just saying "how they originally came".

Approximately where are you writing from? So you have the 2 bbl intake manifold? .
Even stock ones are getting pricey these days. The "super 6" 2 barrel was a factory option that ended a few years before your truck came out. You'll need "that" intake manifold to do it right or something like an aftermarket "Aussie speed" one.
Mopar performance had an aluminum one out at one point but there's not many around and all you might find of those these days would be used. (Not like that's a big deal)

Have you tried adjusting the carb you have? Have you verified it is a slant six specific BBD and not a BBD for a 318? THere are some important differences between the v-8 and /6 Carter BBDs
.

I assume a BBD 8137S or 8217 would be good fit on my 2 barrel intake. ?

SlantSix Dan I believe you are correct about Holly 350 knock off . It is 350 cfm which seems huge for stock engine with 100k miles. Truck is rust free new rubber door seals and window seals. Dash and interior are in VG condition NO AC from factory going to leave it that way. 4 speed 4X4 with warn hubs and upgraded front axle. Its a keeper carb issue and need good air breather assy is main needs to be nice runner.

If it is a keeper you could spend the money to get a new production holley 350 2bbl carb from any number of sources (summit/jegs). Facebook marketplace usually has a good assortment of used carbs. New production from edelbrock or holley "should" be reliable, anything offbrand from amazon is rolling a dice.

A few months ago I asked about the preferred carb for a stockish 225 that is available. The answer was to get an old needing rebuilt ford/autolite 2050/2150 two barrel carb. People have got good power and economy out of them and they have good adjustability. They are commonly on marketplace. The ford trucks from the 70's used a 350 cfm version on the 351w engines. Other engines used smaller flow rates.

I'm not sure that would be all that much better. Just the other day I was talking with the owner of an old-car biz (about headlamps for an '80s Chev van they're building for a customer). He was skeptical of the "Holley" Retrobright headlamps(haped trinkets), and when I told him he was right to doubt them and explained why, he said it was the same story as pretty much all the rest of the Holley parts offering. I said I liked it better when they stayed in their lane and concentrated on making carburetors. He said, I'm quoting here, "Also mediocre. They had to buy a real carb company (Quick Fuel) to have a product that was competent. Then they watered that brand down with their usual substandard manufacturing. It's regular practice to have to disassemble and clean out machining chips from a new Holley carb."

2100/2150, see threads here and here; Michael Ehrmann is the whisperer on these carbs. Email I have for him is michael.ehrmann@hotmail.com ; might still be valid.

I was looking for NOS Carter BBDs on eBay and found several (not Chinese junk ones) for the 318 around the $300 price range. Dan says that these should work OK for the Slant. I just rebuilt an old V8 one I have and it seems to be running OK. I'm testing it now.

eBay item number:235705862973
