Check out Rick covalt or Greg ondayko.
Both are in PA as well and each has quite the/6 collection.
As I remember one or the other had a /6 727 listed here for sale not too long ago.
Actually there's a couple of people in that area...
Hopefully they'll see this.
I might have one here real soon as soon as I get my mind made up whether to keep my 727 or whether to swap in my a500 . yes the a500 was only made with the v8 bolt pattern. But I have a way to make it work.
I also have a brand new reman converter with mine as the ring gear was bad. Zero miles just a couple of hours of break in time on my engine. But I'm in Chicago ish.

AS another option, if nothing else works for you. I have an extra empty slant six 727 case available.

What is needed for the case a standard 727 for parts? Is there any specific tourque converter? Sorry for the late response I had notifications turned off.

I can get the numbers off the case. That will tell the year. Then the best "safest" way to get the correct parts would be to get V-8 727 of the same year range (there were changes made internally over the years, some could make a differance). Just put the V_8 internals in the slant case.
Almost any TC would work/fit, but wouls be best to get a "rebuilt" from a republe rebuilder, as there were many stall variations. The rebuilder can tailor the stall for your application.

Numbers on case. 374591CM 6206 0623
I'll have to try and find may "numbers" list. and find the application/year.
Just as a reminder, this is just a empty main case for a slant six.

Got the numbers wrong. It is 3745916M 6206 0623
July 25, 1978
Here is a link to a post over on FABO. I had forgotten about that.

I understand I kinda like the idea of building it from the ground up. Shoot me a dm

It's been awhile did you find one?
I have one still in my truck, brand new (stock reman) converter. Ran and drove great except lockup didn't work
Never did look into why.
I put a new converter in because of a ring gear issue on the original while I had engine out. Haven't driven since new converter installed. Did top off and run for engine break in only. Also has new front pump seal. I put that in with the new converter. It's possible that the new converter solves that issue or it could be in the valving. I have the cab blown apart inside so can't drive it to check that possibility out at this time.

I did replace the fluid and filter, with old Engine still in place. old fluid looked like it just came out of the bottle. I put probably a couple hundred miles on it in 2 lane country road driving before I swapped engines (I put another/6 in its place, only a fresh one with a few improvements along the way.

It does have a leak that I think might be the shift shaft seal. Easy fix. .
I have 2 possible alternatives on hand for this truck. I just gotta decide whether I want to keep it auto or convert to a 4 speed, both alternatives I have will gain me an OD.
If I can figure out how to get it to you id sell it for about what I have in the converter which I believe was around $125. I'm near Chicago.
My trans is a late 1985 model, I remember checking out the numbers a while back. It is original to my truck, has just short of 100k original miles.
There is a get together\ /6 race happening in 2 weeks, I'm planning on going. If we talk nice (you too!) to a couple of our members coming from that part of the world maybe we can get it there? If interested I could pull it one night after work this week. PM me.

I do not have any 727's for a slant 6.

Good luck with your search.

Dan Gavaratt is over in your area too. Maybe he has a local lead for you?

I forget his handle on here.

I'm not the one needing one. The OP is. /was.
I have one but I'm no where near him according to the title.
It's been awhile so maybe he got one or rebuilt the one out of his rig...
But if he still needs one I might be able to help him out... if I can figure out a way to get it there.
I sent him a PM we'll see what happens
