The up side to the HEI is that you can get a module anywhere anytime for a lot less than the Petronix. Or carry a $10 one in the glove box. A Distributor, a module and some wire can't cost that much, unless you insist on a brand new distributor.

And just in case anyone was on the edge of his seat wondering, the Pertronix-I will idle down to 350 RPM (speed screw no longer touching throttle lever tab) with reasonable smoothness and no change in oscilloscope trace, which is completely different than the Pertronix-II.
