Hello all,

I am in the process of rebuilding a slant 6 to replace the very worn out engine currently in my '67 Coronet. The car currently has a '70-something engine with an A230 trans (3-on-the-tree). The engine I am rebuilding is a '79 "Super Six" which the previous owner said was pulled from a truck. Will the bellhousing, clutch, and flywheel currently in the car bolt right up to the newer engine, or are there differences between parts from different years/transmissions/applications that would complicate this? Are there any other potential fitment/mounting issues I will run into doing this swap? I'm already aware the oil pan from the '79 engine likely won't fit, I will be using the pan off the old engine.

Since the engine in the car is already a 70s series, you should be fine. Check the pocket on the crank to make sure it's drilled for the pilot bushing/input shaft. If it's not there are some simple fixes.
