And then I have an old 8-3/4. . I tried sending a couple of pix to another member by PM and it didn't work (?) so I'll try again here. I know it's a '57-64, splined ends for the drums, prior research as I remember said it's basically the same as a "742". 4.10 open, and I can't say for certain other than that the yoke has never had a u joint connected to it, I'm thinking the innards are very fresh.
The value would be the chunk and not the housing, I only left it intact to keep it clean and sealed.
The housing has been modified to fit I don't know what.

So like I asked for... Honest and fair offers. Honestly don't have any solid numbers in mind.

Being as how I've had nobody reply, I drug the rear end out a little bit ago. I do not see how I would release the axles to be able to pull the chunk. The end bells are welded to the tubes and the outer axle bearings look like ball bearings not tapered roller like I remember other 8-3/4 being. The 8-3/4s I have messed with you pull the nuts which hold the axle retainer in along with the brake backing plates of which this never had since I have had it.
It appears like I might not have a choice but to cut the housing on either side of the center section and hope a sawzall blade will go thru the axles.... As I'd said the value would be in the chunk.
It definitely has a new yoke and a brand new pinion seal.. it's a CR and the numbers are very legible. Dummy me I didn't write that down.... Reverse looking up that seal number could help ID this unit.

In another note I have a 1974 drool tube head (bare) that I started lightly cleaning up the ports on... Very minimal. Come n get that...
And I have a /6, stick aluminum bell housing. I believe it to be an OD one but I never measured. Definitely not a HD truck one
Make me a decent fair offer, and come and get these.

Ok an update
I cut the goofy ends off just next to where they were welded to the "banjo" portion. For now I'm gonna leave it like that (again to keep things clean,) after burning up 7 sawzall blades and barely breaking thru the housing in 1 spot, I ended up sliding the chop saw in around it.... Someone's gotta have a use for a 4.10 8-3/4. chunk.

I tried to take a better pic of the casting number, I don't think I succeeded.
Here it is. 1634985.
A Google search says it's the original 8-3/4 used from 1957 to 1964.
Has 1-3/4 dia pinion shaft like a "742".
In that same Google search there were several hits on threads about this casting number of rear diff on FBBO. And a couple of hits related to the Chrysler "300".

Thanks, Don. Is that an OD bellhousing? I think the ID of the trans hole is 5.125" IIRC. If you can measure it and that's right, I'm interested in that. Might be interested in the chunk too, but see if Rick wants it.

Yeah on the open unfortunately. But it appears freshly overhauled though I didn't do the job so I can't verify. It's just how I got it. I'll measure the pilot hole in the BH and get back to you. I think I I've actually got 3 BHs but I'm keeping the late 80s one that's made for a hydraulic clutch.... That one I know is an OD but I have a use for that one. I'll have to check on the 2nd one I think I have that I would also be able to let go.

A super 6 stack from a 79 F body sorry I needed the carb and linkage haha
A super nice radiator out of same car. Aftermarket, dang near brand new, old enough to be still brass and copper.
Also if someone would be interested I could bring a /6 lockup 727.
Has brand new reman stock converter, put in when I put the engine in because old one had a chewed ring gear. No road miles on converter just a couple of hours of idle/engine break in time.
Id need a heads up on the 727 because id have to pull it.
There might be a few other goodies once I dig.
EDIT. I found the tin shields for both bell housings I have. I will have both with me at clay city
