 Post subject: Sway bar

I have a 64 dart. I will be doing the disc brake conversion using parts from a 74 duster. My question is, what are my options for a sway bar? I read that the factory 64-66 swaybar won't work after the disc brake swap, so does that leave me with addco? is there anyone else that makes a swaybar that will fit this after the brake swap? I also read that the way the addco bar mounts is not the best, although I don't know why.

can anybody shed some light on any of this?

Thanks

JCAB

(1) Actually, you CAN use the actory 64-66 a-body sway bar. The trick is that you have to swap the spindles side to side, thus moving the caliper from the front of the rotor to the back. You must also then use the brake hoses from a 80 Volare (they ar elonger) and you may want to go to a later year caliper so the bleeder valve is back on top.

(2) I haven't used one myself, but I have heard good reports for Addco swaybar, both the clamp on and weld on varieties.

If you already have a factory sway bar, swap spindles. If you don't I say just get an addco bar. The factory pieces are too rare and expensive these days to make tracking one down worth the bother.
