when putting a draw thru system on an s6 ....let supose it has forged pistons, stock valves and ported standard cr would be about 8.7 I guess

what if you use an intercooler from where the turbo blows air thru the intercooler then to the intake?

would it be too dangerous?????
lets say you want to run 6-10 lbs of boost which carb to use ?

from what i understand, you cant use an intercooler with a draw through system. it has to be a special system if you do it. im no expert on this and im just starting out on learning about turbos so hopefully someone else can better explain this and why.

Really, if you are serious about turbocharging, use a fuel injection setup. There are several good DFI control systems available. You will need to fabricate an exhaust & intake manifold and the difficulty with this will vary depending on how elaborate your plans are. It is just too difficult to try to tune using a carb and distributor.

NEVER, NEVER, run an intercooler in a draw thru turbo installation. When the engine is running you will have a mix of air and fuel in the intercooler. This is an explosive mixture, especially under boost. If you have an intake backfire, the air/fuel mix in the intercooler will explode like a bomb. Intercoolers should only be used in a "dry" mode.

I'm guessing when you said fabricate an exhaust manifold that you meant for turbocharging, EFI only requires a modified or fabricated intake manifold. The only thing done to the exhaust system with EFI will be getting an oxygen sensor on it. For turbocharging a modified stock exhaust manifold is supposed to be the best setup.
