how much would a front disc brake set up run you guys in yall areas? it seems that the people and junkyards that know what they have want $400 or more. im having trouble finding a set up but found a car with disc brakes and a blown motor. so i might be able to get the whole car for pretty cheap.

Thats insane... I wouldn't pay more then $150 around here (upper arms, spindles, calipers/rotors both sides) at a junkyard.

Remember you don't need everything, lots of parts are still availible new/rebuilt. The only key items are the upper control arms and spindles. If you want to save some bucks and get junkyard rotors buy them with a return policy at least so you can have them turned/measured to make sure they are still in spec before installing.

That is about going rate for small bolt disk brakes(maybe a little high, they get $350 around here)
I agree with Pierre if they are big bolt though.

The pick n'pulls here don't care, big bolt small bolt they don't differentiate. The only thing they ask you is from what make and if its a car or truck. Usually truck stuff is a bit more but not by much.

A rear end is $60, wether a dana 60 or a 7 1/4.

They are a chain, not a ma n'pa local type of thing. I doubt the workers would know the difference in market value of a 78 Volare or a 69 Barracuda.

Man if I could sell every disc brake setup I find for $400.....
