Took it out last night to Orlando Speedworld.

15.7 @ 87.2mph with a .825 light

next was .496 red light and went 15.8 @ 86 because i waited too long to shift

next was .589 light, and 15.9 @ 85 because I had a passenger in the car

currently edelbrock 500, clifford intake, MP 6-1 header... I put in an electronic distributor (i was triggering the MSD with a Pertronix dist.) seems to run better, but i think it's because the new distributor has a different advance curve, haven't messed with the slots yet.

oh, the way home was fun, I was putting my foot in it and the radiator decided to move back into the fan, rubbing a hole in the bottom tank, and finally the car overheated... as i was pulling my driveway...! It was a slap together used Volare radiator.. now for a new one with real brackets that hold it in place!!!

Cool :) Seems our cars are pretty well matched and similarly prepared. Hope we can line them up sometime and do a little "match racing" :D

What gear are you running, just out of curiousity?

3.55, open gear, spins a little off the line, but with the stock converter in the trans it launches pretty tamely... someday a T5 will go in... still collecting parts...

Excellent results, Thropar, especially with a stock converter. A Sure-grip would help a lot.

Slant on, brotha,

Lou

I have been trying to get Thropar to a slant six race for a while. Maybe I'll have better luck in 2005.

thanks guys, it's fun for sure... sometime i'll have more time to put in on the car to do what it needs to travel longer distances...

14's are indeed in sight and it sure is fun running a slant, everyone looks at it...

cheers and happy holidays to all!!!
