Under the carb, on the intake manifold.
An other thing to try is a heat shield, on the same place.
I know they came from the factory on some trucks, but they are easy to make yourself.

About the coolant leaking from my head, its not just leaking in one spot. But i remembered that i was supposed to put sealant on the head gasket...right? Well i never did :( so would that cause my coolant to dribble from the head? Do you think i could get away with using the same head gasket and just putting the sealant on there?

I dont think re using gaskets are worth it.

I noticed it leaking out of the very front, just dribbling though. I also nopticed its leaking out of the back but im not sure if its a spot closest to the firewall or if its coming out of the side. Arent the water ports located on the front and back of the head? I expect thats where its leaking from. I might as well just buy a new gasket, its only 25 bucks and it will save me from having to tear it all apart again the re-used one fails on me. But i am supposed use the sealant right? On the gasket itself i saw some writing that said non sealant gasket...what does this mean?

The new head gaskets are designed to be used without sealant. Read/follow the instructions that come with the gasket and you will get the best results.

I don't know how many people have ever tried re-using this type of gasket by adding sealant. I think for $25 it's far too tempting to buy another new one and then install/torque it correctly and forget about it. How many more times do you want to remove the head?

If the gasket is currently leaking in 2 different places, I'd say it's fair to believe that it's toast. Have you established what went wrong during the first install?

So i tore the head off today...two cylinders had blown the seal out...the passages for the water jackets were toast...im guessing that since water was getting into the whole mix thats what caused the "smoke" which was actually steam to come out of my blow-by on the valve cover. So tomorrow i put the slant back together and see if i can stop this from happening again. Im confused as to why the gasket would have gone to begin with. Both mating surfaces were cleaned up, i even had the surface on the head re-surfaced. My guess is improper torqueing. Ill make sure to torque in 3 steps this time.25-50-70? Also when i pulled my head off today i noticed to thick wires running through my water jackets, both ran through over half of the head, each one then wrapped around #1 and #6 combustion chambers...what is the story behind these?

I think they were used for something when they cast the head.
Just rip it out, if you can.
