so i just finished putting in my new KYB shocks and the car feels alot firmer, only since i dropped it ala the torrosion bolt under the car, the ride feels alot bumpier, which i expected

from the floor to the bottom under the door measured 10 1/2"

it now measures 7"

the car feels alot faster (maybe it's just me) and i think it looks alot better, but with dropping the car that low, is there somethings i should look out for and work on? can i still have a smooth ride and have the car that low??

thanks

What, preytell, is "cholo" style?

If you lowered it very far, your body is now riding on (or close to) the lower control arm jounce bumpers. Good for looks, but not good on suspension parts and ride. I should know, I went through a period when I had my Duster "slammed" front and back and full Moon discs all around.

D/W

P. S. - have you ever ridden in a go-cart at about 45 or 50 mph? It feels like you are going 100. Same effect by locating your @$$ closer to the ground in your car! 8)

...is that pronounced like "kolo", or "CHolo", like "chew"?

Just curious,

worn leaf springs and un adjusted torsion bars make my car ride so so low. The 13'' wheels help alot. People ask if its lowered 8) the tires tuck up under the fenders and the k-member is only 4''off the ground. sheesh

if you want a cholo ride get a set of dropped spindles for front and a set of lowering blocks for the rear....

low-rider homie! You gotta come to LA and you'll get it ;-) You'll be crusing your impala and scraping the ground!

Valiant I miss CA, but be careful not to hit any of those large puddles on the 405 or you're a goner!

All the leaves are brown,

And the sky is grey,

I went for a ride,

In Kermit today,

If I left my Mopars,

I could leave today,

Oh, California Dreamin'

On such a winter's day...

Now everybody sing along!

D/W

Jumping Hydraulics, a trunk full of batteries and a tiny diameter chrome
chain link steering wheel? Or were these features unique to the Gilroy, CA version of Cholo?

Can't say I have ever seen this on a Mopar A-body either - Mostly
64 Impalas were the car of choice for that treatment.

Sounds unique - Any sketches or pictures?

I think he posted some at some point...i recall seeing that steering wheel. LOL it would go perfect with the lowered ride. I can't wait to see pics. 64 impala, "eeehhh homie, you got some fuzzy dice??"

i'm in the process of buying a digital camera, so there will be tons of pics.. when i got the car it was a nasty big bird yellow color with green interior.. i've painted everything chrome on the car a dull aluminumm color..

i don't know if you guys know Russel Exile the chopper builder, he does his bikes in polished aluminum and i like the looks, so instead of going chrome, i went aluminum..

going to build my own front grille out of aluminum too...

i'm trying to make it a daily driver with a touch of the old lowrider style.

the other day, i was driving and a hot girl in a lexus looked over at me, i smiled.. and she drove away laughing!!!!

it was the steering wheel...

if you go junkyarding you can find blocks for lowering the rear under 4x4 truck rears they use them to raise rear but you axle is above spring so it will lower rear

....dont forget the dinkleballs and bobblehead dog with lit eyes for rear dash.....
