I'm guessing the larger one that goes through the inner fender is for a bolt. I can't seem to find one in my bags of removed parts. If it is a mounting hole for the battery tray, can someone tell me what goes there?

Thanks much,
Jerry

Here's a picture of a 1975 Duster battery tray. Sorry, t his is the only picture I could find that shows this bolt in that corner. Note bolt head (with big built-on washer) appears further away from he edge of the tray than the hole in your tray that is labeled "bolt".
Yes, there is a drain hole and a bolt hole. Can't be certain which is which at this time. I know the drain hole is flared to the bottom to direct drainage down past the inner fender and not allow it to seep between the battery tray and fender. The bolt I think screws into one of those clip-on nut type things. Can't remember the name for it. Hope this picture helps you.

Got any pictures of the rest of your car?

Thanks Craig. I'll have to go through all the extra bolts we have left over and see if one looks like it goes there. You're right about the smaller hole. The inner fender has a large square opening under it for any spills to drip through without getting between it and the pan.

I don't have any current pics, but we will be taking some soon. The engine is in and most of the wires and hoses are back in place. We're just about ready to give her a test fire and break in the new cam.

Jerry
