What bucket seats can be made to appear correct for a '71 Dart ?
Assuming that I have A-body seat tracks, can I swap in seats from
another '70s Mopar ? The seats will be reupholstered.

Where is the location of the release for the '71 Dart ?

I found a set of '75 Dart SE seats, but these have soft backs. Did
the '71 had a hard plastic backs ? Can I get new plastic backs
and use them with the SE seats? I also found a set of '75 Sport
Fury vinyl seats with the plastic backs.

I put the bucket seats from a '72 Charger into a '71 Duster using the Duster brackets - the seat frames were the same. I think if you have the right brackets for a given body and stick with a similar year, you should be good to go. All the older seats I have seen have the hard backs. Not sure if you can fit them to the later bucket seats.
