OK, this may be niave, but can you safely raise the body off the K frame to squeeze taller tires in?
Of course the shackles would be easier.

Just to clarify, I saw a 64 Dart at a show and the guy claimed he raised the whole body 2 inches. I didn't look under it, but it really gave the car a, different/better look.

Just a few things I can think of that would be adversely affected:

1. If you have a column shift automatic, the shift linkage might be too short.
2. The steering column might not reach the steering gear box, or would be at the wrong angle.
3. The fan shroud might interfere with the fan.
