Was Jack Pohler in charge of the newsletter also? Maybe we should start it back up, except this time it is e-mailed instead of going through the postal system.

The news letter is free to racers, who participate in two or more slant 6 points races a year. $10.00 per year, 4 issues, for others. Sample issue on request.

Yep, Jack collected Slant-6 Club of America membership monies, and put out four Slant-6 News magazines per year. This later slipped to three, then to "unpredictable", then to "none".

What do you miss about the newsletter that you don't find here on this site?

As someone who has been the editor and publisher of a couple of newsletters and contributor to several more, I can assure you there will be no mad rush for volunteers to publish either online or a paper version. It's a huge amount of work and most people don't appreciate the effort.

For all of Jack Poehler's faults, he published a beautiful newsletter and Doug and Dan's technical contributions were outstanding, as were the contributions of others. I still prize every issue and keep them with the mailing covers intact.

*nodnod* Ayup. The magazines stopped shipping long before Jack stopped accepting the yearly subscription fees.
