:? Hi Im new to this sight and new to the slant six,
I recently bought a 1975 Dodge D-100, The valves and tranny have been
redone and the truck still lacks get up and go power. my carb(H-1945) is shot and I need a replacement. Some Have told me not to go back to this modle carb but to replace with the holley 1920 or with a carter 2 barrle. if I choose to go to the 2-barrle What else needs to be changed besides the manifold? Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Kickdown linkage, choke stove, throttle cable, plus the manifold and carb are the ingredients for a supersix conversion.

The best 1-barrel is the Carter BBS. Next is the Holley 1920 and then the dread 1945.

1945s suck. I'm blessed with two of them.

I say go with a two barrel. See this article:

There are other options out there, such as an adapter and a Holley 5200, but for straight bolt-on stuff stick to the factory options.
