Hi, Brand new to the site, as a memeber that is! I have visited many times before.

My question is, I am curently building the 225 slant for my VC Valiant and I am desperately searching for someone with, or knows of a gear drive (timing) set for the slant. I currently have the rollmaster chain and want the gears. I know, I know, its not worth it but I just love the sound of it!! Down here all the Holden (GM) and ford sixes run gear drive and it sounds tuff!! The motor is heavily modified already, just fininshing it off.
Thanks to anyone that can help!!

cheers

There was someone from down there who was going to make a setup for the Slant. Haven't heard anything from him lately though.

You can use a 440 set but have to mill some of the block.

Thanks for that! The guys making them down here was pentastar parts. The problem is, they have been "in the making" for about ten months now.

I'm interested in the idea of the 440 set! Have you tried this?

Thanks again for the help.

A double idler set-up for a 383-440 will work but you will need to make a special adaptor for the top gear.
The SL6 T. Chain cover may need some mods to fit over the set.

Jeff Droll in Ohio used to make that adapter. Seymour had the blueprint for it in one of the newsletters.

Call it coincidence...but I had an enquiry about these sets only yesterday....which prompted me to call my machine shop regarding the production of Slant 6 specific timing gear drive sets. All going well we should have these complete in 4-6 weeks.... it has been ten months or more but you have to remember that we are doing ALOT of new and reproduction parts for many facets of our hobby....sometimes priorities change midway through a project for whatever reason...this was one of those cases... rest assured they WILL be here soon as the first port of call will be my new engine ! :)

Any further enquiries regarding the purchase of these kits can be forwarded to me directly @ sales@pentastarparts.com.au or alternatively I can be contacted directly on (+61) 2 9608 8888. Thanks.
