Is there a good shop in western WA (prefereably the Everett area or close to it) for having the 225 in my girl's Dart overhauled? Looks like her mother's loaning her the money to have it done while I'm deployed, so I figure why not, as long as it's done by a good shop that won't FUBAR anything. I don't want to have it done by some "engines are all the same" nimrod like her dad's friend who suggested putting 90W gear oil in it to stop the oil leaks (what a jackass).

You'd think her dad would've learned when he siezed the crank in the 302 that he did that to

Highland East Auto Parts in Renton has a machine shop downstairs, I don't remember if they do engines or not. Regardless when you call ask for Byron, he's the owner and he will give competent advice, he knows his business and how to keep customers.

On the reverse side, Jacob's Engine in Everett did more damage than good to our Dart so I would avoid them.

Thanks for the tip. I hope to God her dad doesn't try to take it there. Sounds like Highland East is a good shop. I'll see if I can talk him into taking it there. I figure wherever it goes there's going to need to be machining equipment nearby...

Devine Auto Machine-best D.A.M. shop in town
By Jim Devine. He's a guy out of Yakima that is a Mopar-only builder. Very VERY knowledgeable and builds lots of high HIGH performance big block Mopars. Should be able to do the /6 for a good price. Look him up in the phone book.

Michael
