Hi all,

I know that there has been lots of discussion on which sway bar is best for val/barra/dart, but what is the consensus on adding one to a car that didn't come equipped with a swaybar orginially? Do I:
1. Look for LCAs that have the early style tab on the ends?
2. Look for LCAs with the newer, in the middle style, tab?
3. Weld on tabs?
4. Connect to the shock absorbers, or strut rod, or other existing hardware?
5. Something else entirely?

I have a 1965 barracuda, that I am planning on some light racing with. I believe that I need something that is streetable ( not hanging down where it will get caught), but robust enough for racing on the weekends.

Thanks,

Greg

The PST bar,,,(I have had one since 99) comes with everything you need to add a bar to a car that was not oringinally equipped with one. Highly recommended.

My son claims the Valaint handles better than a new Mustang (his cousins) which he drove over the weekend on a winding highway.

Hi Sandy,

Did this use weld on tabs? I have the LCA's off, and I am trying to figure out if I need to do welding while they are off.

Thanks,

Greg

My experience is that aftermarket tabs should be welded on, even if they are "bolt on." Eventually, stresses will wiggle things back and forth and crack/break/bend something if they're not welded. On mine (two Addcos and one Quickor), I just bolted them on, then did a little welding/gusseting.

The tabs are bolted on,,,,,and haven t moved in years of nasty road abuse. They do get checked every 5000km when the car is serviced. I dont think welding would hinder or help. Up to you.

Now he knows what we've known for decades, A-Bodies always handle better than any Ford Falcon with a sporty body on it.

Hi all,

Sandy, where did you attach your PST bar to the frame? I got some really crappy instructions ( the bar looks good, just the instructions stink), and it said to attach to the K-Frame. I am not seeing really good places on the front. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Greg
