Is $195 a good price for a single exhaust. That is what a local exhaust shop quoted me for my Duster. 2 1/4 pipe with Flowmaster Muffler. Right now I'm just shopping around.

3 months ago I was quoted $146 for Everything from the muffler, cheapo turbo, out the back. Using aluminized pipe, 2 in. This was a local shop, not a national chain. I used them for my 63 Dart duals, quite impressed. I am going to get the whole exhaust replaced, probably will be within $20 of yours, that could be the cost of the muffler.

While we are on the subject, which exhaust pipe diameter is best for my otherwise stock slant. 2 inch or 2 1/4 inch?

You know, now that I think about it, 2 1/4 does seem to be what is recommended for a single system. If you were quoted $195 for that, I would think thats pretty good. I tend to look at it like, if I can't do the job, for whatever reason, I gotta pay somebody, a professional, to do it. Worth it to me. The duals on my 63 are 13 yrs. old and are just now showing signs of wear, though I don't drive it every day.

I had duals run on my '69 Newport for $250 in Macon, Jeb, and I thought that was high. Almost $200 for a single exhaust system is a ripoff. I'd go with the 2.25", by the way.

A handful of years ago I paid low-mid 200's ($220? $230?) for a signle 2.25" system w/dynomax superturbo muffler. I believe the guy originally quoted me $200 but he said he had to spend more time making the Y to join the clifford headers and going around the auto linkage.
