I'll be there for sure with two cars/drivers (68 Dart 270, 66 "Project V").

Should be there Fri night for test'n'tune as well.

Cameron Tilley comes to my house 8/3 and will come to the race as well.

What time is the show on Sat morning at Empire Chrysler?

Lou

No test and tune on Fri. The track regular TnT is Thur nite. Copy of e-mail to Danny Dunn.

Hi Charlie ,We T&T on Thursdays but also on Saturday so you should be able to make plenty of practice runs. The Temps have been mid 90 s .Dont think a Sunday race would be likely. Dan

Danny, Is there going to be a test and tune Friday Aug 5th, prior to the Sat Slant Six race? Also will Sunday be a rain date, or will the race be canceled if rained out?

Thanks, from Florida.

I will be there, God willing, but not sure which car I'll bring. My race motor is still sitting on the basement floor and untested  I should be done in time??

I've been driving my wife's new car a lot. Seems like a couple hundred miles since tuesday, and it's very quiet/confident on the highway, now that I changed out the power steering box. Sad thing is it's a 1 bbl carb and feels like a real slug off the line, even when compared to my 'race' car's 11.92 1/8th mile.

My wife's 'new' car is a 75 scamp 225 auto. More details/photos once I'm done installing the motor in MY car.

Now I know why people complain about back to back race weekends, even 3 weeks isn't much time to regroup. I still haven't unpacked the trunk from clay city!

Got good news, and bad news. Had the Cuda up to Gainesville Raceway, last night. Ran the quickest ever. 13.167 at 97.55 mph. 1/8 mile was going 8.2's. Bad news. Next run, I think it ate a piston. Don't have time to work on it, this week. So I am not going to make Wilkesborro.

Hey Charrlie,

Sorry to hear that. That's just your kind of racing style though. Always pushing your car for the fastest speed and lowest E.T. No harm in that part of it. The rest of us are inspired by your willingness to push the envelope!

Maybe one of the local racers with multiple cars is looking for an experienced "hot shoe" like you to race their extra car!

Any takers?

(I would try to list Charrlie's list of accomplishments and championships, but I'd likely butcher it all up)

I have two other engines, on the stand, all done, and ready to go in. I just don't have the time this week. I am all booked up with customers cars, that would have to be done before I could leave.

We will be there with the Simca and possibly one other car. Depends on if Mom wants to race or watch.

I'll be there!
I finally got some work done on Eddie, so we'll see if it was worth it. Sure feels good so far 8)
Comp 252 cam, lifters, springs (thanks, Seymour!), 77 head ported and shaved .080, rebuilt rear springs (reversed leaf), 3.55 SG.
He's still cosmetically challenged, though :(

Wow, that's a lotta work! I finally have all 3 of my A bodies running at the same time. Drove my 64 Dart this morning, first time since 10/12/03  :D

Don't think I have enough drivers though!

Put Cameron to work while he is here. :D It would be neat to have an Aussie win a Slant six race.

Very sorry to hear you won't make it Charlie:( At least you will be able to pay some bills till next time. Take it when you can get it.

I can relate to being too busy to do all the stuff I like. I might have been able to finish the Aspen, but it might have been a few more late nights in a row than my wife could take. There's always next race for the Aspen.

Good thing my wife's car is a slant six too! :P We'll be leaving Thursday and driving through the night. Hope to sleep off the trip on friday at my wife's aunt's house in Charlotte. My cell # will be 412-378-2438 if anybody wants to reach me.

What time do we meet Saturday at Empire Chrysler??????

You could save yourself about 3.5-4 hrs driving time by staying in NW instead of coming all the way to Charlotte.

I think the dealership opens around 8 am and we display the cars until around 1-2 or whenever practice starts at the track.
