I talked to Dale today and he did some shakedown runs at Paradise Drag Strip our home drag strip. The Arrow went 6.74 as its fastest pass. But it had some isues with it. Pully problem Fuel problem and a couple of other minor problems. He is going to be at Wilksboro and lets see what happens
The pulley problem he is going to solve this week. Thanks Ron Parker

Thanks for the update Ron. Many of us had been wondering about how that upgrade was coming along.

It's looking more and more like Wilksboro is gonna be the race to be at.

Dale and his Arrow back in action along with the Risen Again "Phoenix" Simca of the Drake's.

You, Norm, and Rodney battling it out and several others looking to get into or stay in the top 10.

Too much to pass up.

We'll all be watching for updates this weekend and Monday!

It'll be great to see some boosted cars at a race again. Last time I saw one was in Australia!

Is Dale's car hooking and going straight? It'll be great to check that setup out.

Lou

THE CAR RAN REAL STRAIGHT. HE HAD A PROBLEM WITH HIS INJECTION SYSTEM BLOWING OUT FUEL WHEN HE RAISED THE RPMS FOR LAUNCH. WE TOOK A RUBBER HOSE AND CUT SMALL PIECES TO FIT OVER THE INJECTORS FOR A QUICK FIX SO HE COULD MAKE SOME PASSES. ALSO HAD A TWO BELT SYSTEM AND HAD TO CUT ONE BELT OFF AFTER IT GOT TWISTED. HE HAS SOME ISSUES BUT SHOULD BE ABLE TO SOLVE MOST BEFORE THIS WEEKEND. HIS BOOST IS ABOUT 5 TO 6 LBS. SO WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN HE CHANGES THE PULLEY FOR MORE BOOST.

I'm sure Dale will get this to work. I have a buddy who Procharged a stock 504 crate motor in his 'Cuda. The thing picked up 1.6 seconds and 15 mph. Car ran 9:40's@142 and it was a tank.

Mines picking up 2.2 seconds on a 150 shot. A 150 on yours should get you real close to the 10's.

Dales fastest pass this weekend was a 6.67 I believe along with a 6.70 and 6.71...you guys should a have a page full of notes by now.

He is still running the same motor from his original race car(b4 the arrow). Claims it is a pretty mild build compared to others.......

Lighter is Better! :!:

It's both "Less Filling" AND "Tastes Great"

I have to think that we're cheatin' just a little by running cars that never came with the Slant 6 though. (Simca, Arrow, Turismo)

But it sure is fun!

I wonder what Virgil Exner would think. :D

At one time there was discussion of cars not available with Slants being exempt from holding any records.

I seem to remember that.

You lose a little of the "heritage" by changing to newer(or older) lighter bodies.

I'm not a "Mega-Purist" about it obviously. Seein' as how I'm tryin' to build a Turismo.

My brother has a Mazda RX7 just sitting there in Tucson that I think would be cool as a "Mazpar SL6" instead! :D

I still have another half dozen or so A bodies to carry on the true Slant 6 heritage... Oh wait! I put 360s in most of them. Oops! You know what I mean though. (That was before I really got involved in Slant 6 racing)

Back to the post: Dale's pro charger upgrade seems pretty promising!

Once he works out some of the kinks I think he'll cause the Drakes to turn up the boost on their turbo just a tad! Tom already mentioned that in another post.

Next year's gonna be fun!

Dale will be "Suckin'", Tom will be "Blowin'", several others will be "Juicin'" and I can't wait to see this mystery car shaping up in SSRN!

I will have to hop on a couple MAC flights throughout the year to come back and see some of the action!
