Where should I actually locate the adjustable proportioning valve?
I don't plan to adjust it on the fly, but i'd rather not have to crawl too far under to reach it.
It should be somewhat protected.
Easy access for the installation would be appreciated.
The car is a '64 Valiant four-door, 225, pushbutton 904. It is a daily driver, although I might try it out in autocross or at the drags for grins and giggles.
The master cylinder is a disk/drum non-power late A-body unit.
The rear brakes are stock 9"X2" drums, for now. I doubt the prop valve will have to dial-out much on those. An axle upgrade is on the to-do list.
The front brakes are mostly '74 Duster 10.87" disks, with slider calipers.

I just put discs from a '74 Valiant on my Dart. I put the proportioning valve near the divider block.

I put it up on the rail section that is inclined, so that it won't get hit by a floor jack. It is easy to get to if you reach under behind the driver's wheel.

If you don't mind some pipe bending, I've heard of guys putting it under the hood.

I put mine on the frame rail just behind the original dist block. I can reach it and adjust from the engine compartment.

I put '74 discs on my '64 and didn't use a p/v.
I plugged off the rear line out of the junction block and extended the rear line to the back pot.
I had 9" drums and it worked fine.
Now I have 10" drums, and it still works fine.

I put my Wilwood P Valve down under the MC next to the steering shaft. Works good there because you can just pop the hood and reach down to it. Image

Pay no attention to the crummy steering shaft seal

I mounted mine on the inner fender above the shock tower. Real easy to get to, but I have to fab up several brake lines to get it there.
