andy-
thanks for the compliments!
those are a set of used 235/45-17 bridgestones front and rear. i did have a little clearance problem at the lower front lip of the wheel opening. i was able to just "roll it up" a little with a hammer and t-dolly. i have a set of fiberglass fenders that look like they will provide the necessary room without modification.
i wound up getting some custom 1" spacers made by a fella in co. cal. named fred goeske. apparently he used to race mopar funny cars in the '60s and '70s until he got into jet powered cars. he made a true set of hubcentric spacers based on my measurement of the mustang wheel's hub and the standard mopar hub which he already knew. they turned out great, but i still want the b-body rear since the 8 1/4 can only take so much plus the easy gear swaps.
as for the stance, i think it could be a little lower up front. i'll probably fix that when i swap the tubular ucas in sometime soon.

A B body rear end might not be wide enough, I'm not sure if they are 1 inch wider per side or not. But a cut down C body housing would probably work. And C body housings are easier to find in the wrecking yards. I need to hit the local wrecking yard and grab the 2 or 3 C body 8.75 housings that are there for my own projects!

well, i dropped plumb bobs (well, ok, strings and lugnuts) from the wheelwell seams and although i can't find my cheatsheets (i moved recently) i remember thinking the '70 and earlier b-body rear would work well after moving the spring perches inboard .5" on both sides. the c-body option is there, but who can do the work and do it right? perhaps you would go this route and sell me one of your old housings with perches set up to fit the swinger? seroiusly!

A custom rearend is a job for DoctorDiff! Real name is Cass and he hangs out on the Moparts board. I've worked with him on several projects and he is a good guy. He builds custom rearends to spec. So if you told him the spring perches and the width from axle to axle he could do it.

Cass has an A body car with big brakes also so he would know just what you need. He also has a pretty cool rear disc brake kit that is just coming to market. I'm planning on putting one of his kits on my car and I'll probably be sending my customers to him for his rear kit.

Cass's shop is in Polson, Montana. Name is Quality Body Shop, Drivetrain Division. I don't have a phone number handy but I'm sure google can find him.
