I should get my head back from the shop this week. It was magnifluxed and pressure tested with no cracks. All new valves w/ 3 angle grind. Assuming the machinist does his job right, can the head be bolted right on, and varoom, or will I have to make adjustments for lash? If so, I assume this is done with the head on the block. Obviously, I've never done this before so any direction would gratefully be appreciated.

Jim

You will need to adjust the valves, for sure. When putting on a reworked head, it's best to do a rough adjustment cold, setting the intake valves to 0.020" and the exhausts to 0.030". Then, follow this procedure for the final adjustment.
