Help, I need a closeup picture of the lower front windshield molding where the aluminum trim strip that's in the middle of the rubber meets in the middle.....

I seem to recall there being a little piece that covered up the gap , but don't recall what it looks like. Currently there's a hole there as this little piece seems to have left the vehicle (and there looks like there is a tiny broken weld on one side)..........

It for a 64 Valiant V100 4dr, but other models are probably similiar. The rear window trim gap covers in the lower corners are ridged if that helps.

I figured that with a picture, it wouldn't be too hard to fabricate a replacement.......

Thanks

Yep, there is a little joiner/cover piece just as you describe. There are also two joiner/cover pieces at the lower corners of the backlight on a '63-'65 Valiant, and on all four corners on a '66 Valiant. These are obviously NLA. The other thing of it is, all the replacement lockstrips are smooth with a round profile, not ridged with a flat-to-concave profile like the original.

Comeon, there's no one out there with a digital camera that can take a picture of the lockstrip trim clip so I can see what it looks like............

:? :?

BTW, it looks like it's the original with a ridge down the middle........

I would like a little education on how the window moldings look as well when done properly. We'll be replacing ours next spring after we get the car repainted. What exactly does the chrome lock strip do??
