BAM! Ouch, damn. That's about all Iknow when a tranny has problems. Really though, when I put my 727 into gear, foward, it first will not go in, then as I give some gas to bring up rpms it will slam into gear, only to slip so bad it couldn't pull a flea off a dog. I drove this truck some last summer and it wasn't bad at all. I did just change the filter, as this condition was already present. Slips pretty bad in reverse but doesn't slam into gear, like foward. Don't know much about it but can follow most directions.

First thing I'd try is to adjust the kickdown linkage to spec. The kickdown controls line pressures in a Torqueflite so it has a lot to do with how and when the tranny shifts, and whether it shifts hard or soft etc. Directions are in most any repair manual and it's real easy to do. Post if you don't have a manual.

Mines an automatic, not a manual. Just kidding. It slams into gear when giving it gas, then slips baaad. Would the kickdown have this affect? BTW, I don't have a trans repair manual.

Didn't think so. It doesn't go to high gear too quick, it slips.
