Hey there. Let me open by saying SLANT SIX MOPAR 225 TORQUEFLITE VALIANT DART....

there 'ya go.

I've been inspectin an A500 (that's the 904 derivative, right?) and other than salvaging its deeper pan wich fits perfectly in my 904, I was wondering if any of you has ever gutted an A500 and used its overdrive tail and valvle body into the 904 case. That would spare me the fabrication of an adaptor plate to mount it behind the slant. Do you think that it's doable?

Don't know personally, but have been told, and have seen it posted many times, that it won't work.

Can't do it as queried. And can't fit an A500 into an A-body without major floor pan modifications.

You mean for the tailhousing? it's the major diffrence. All the casing is about the same size (I'll love to loose that stupid SB bolt pattern
The rear part (wich contains the overdrive) looks pretty much like a gear vendors unit... so a gear vendors Under/overdrive won't work neither?
I guess that I'll settle for the deep pan... that sure would help to cool down my tranny and allow me to sleep better after banging it hard in city transit. (not like vin diesel, but......)

I've seen it posted several times that an a-500 won't fit to replace a 727 or 904. What I have NOT seen is exactly what the interference is. Floorpan? Trans Crossmember? Other location I haven't mentioned??? It just seems like that should be the best shortcut to an O'drive and better gas mileage, darnit!
