Anybody knows if the stock rims (13") were painted the same colour as the car because I think my spare wheel is the original one and has been painted black (spray can) but under the black paint I can see the same tan as my car...

The early cars with small centre hub caps (no full wheelcovers) often had body-colour wheels.

I think just about every car where you could get "dog-dish" hubcaps had body colored wheels, while cars with wheel covers had black wheels. So it depends on whether you are running hubcaps or wheel covers.

My 66 Dart has body colored wheels (white) with factory dog dish caps. Although the body is now in primer the car was painted white from the factory. Please check the pictures at the link. http://community.webshots.com/user/360todd

My 68 Dart with 13" wheels were body color (gold). The spare with the
original bias ply goodyear was also gold. It has the "hub caps" not "wheel
covers". It only has 57,000 original miles so I know all equipment (exept
the master cylender, ditributor cap, plugs, wires, which I changed)

I believe that changed in either '71 or '72. In one of those years Chrysler just used black rims whether you got hub caps or wheel covers. The original 14" rims on my Satellite where black with the "dog dish" caps, and the car was originally Winchester Gray Metallic.

My 62 has body color wheels and fulle wheel covers. Whether they are original or not I don't know.

Heh, good one!

I bought it like that. Sometime in its life it was hit in the passenger side quarter panel, so somebody decided to paint it black. The kid I bought it from said the guy she got it from bought it at an abandaned car auction.

Oh yeah, those are police rims.
