Has anyone used the "new" axle bearing kit from MP for their 8 3/4? Is it better than the OEM set-up. It claims to do away with the end play adjustment which I've always found to be a bit of a pain. Is this good for a daily driver? Any thoughts are welcome.
P.S. This kit is pictured on p.297 of the new Summit cat. Thanks Michael

Sounds like a redo of the Green bearing kit. I have run Green bearings on the street for years.

either way, pressin bearings is a pain. not as bad as replacing upper control arm bushings, but right up there none the less.

When I got my 8 3/4, it had 1 green bearing and 1 stock. I wanted maximum robustness, so I decided to go to stock on both, but the cover plates had been badly damaged. I could get the bearings and seals anywhere, but the covers were difficult to find and I bought 2 factory kits from Year One.

Each kit has the covers for BOTH sides; you only need one kit to get both covers. That only left he adjustment lock tang; I never found a source for it and got one from scrap axle.
