Can I use a front end kit for a 74 A-body on my 63 Valiant?
This is what I'm getting from the 74 donor car:

LCA
UCA
spindle
rotors

I'm getting the LCAs too so I can send them to a shop to get balljoints installed before I take apart the 63 front end.

What else do I need to take from the donor car to make it possible to use a standard 73-76 front end kit?

( I'm also getting the proportioning valve, front brake lines, master cyl actuating rod )

You can use everything but the idler and pitman arms from the 74-76 front end kit. I usually buy everything separately from a local shop or place like rockauto.com.

No. Too many things are non-interchangeable.

Pitman and Idler arms are completely non-interchangeable "dealbreakers".

The reason I was hoping to get enough 74 parts to use a standard 74 front end kit is I have very little idea what these bushings and things look like. They could hand me bushings and ball joints for a 60 Valiant and I wouldn't know they were wrong until I was trying to assemble stuff on a sunday.

Since you are swapping on 74 LCAs/UCAs and spindles, everything from the 74 kit will work EXCEPT the pitman/idler arms, as I said before.

he doesn't really need the LCAs, but if i had it all i'd take 'em and the strut rods as well since they should be a larger diameter rod. BTW, the lower balljoints bolt onto the spindles, not the LCAs.
good idea to get your front brakelines and prop valve as well so you can dump that crappy single-pot master cyl. nice work on that big score!
does the car have a lbp rear axle as well?

Oops, I goofed again. I did not switch my LCAs on either of my late spindle/susp conversions and still used the 73-up lower balljoints.

Does anyone know of a donor car for disc brakes (and power steering) for a '61 Lancer ?
Thanks in advance.
