Nice looking cars! I've got a few 65s also: Signet convert sl6 3 on the tree, Sig hardtop sl6 4 speed (getting ready to part out drivetrain to convert), Barracuda 273 4 speed, Dart GT convert (doing a complete resto sl6 auto), Dart 270 wagon sl6 auto getting ready to swap a V8, Dart GT hardtop parting out (was 273 4 barrel 4 speed factory AC & 8 3/4), Coronet 440 convert, A100 P/U, and the oddballs 69 A108 cargo van and 81 Imperial. Phew!

Is that a mistype? The convert looks like a 64, to me.

Could the front fenders have been changed to the 64 style? Long time ago I saw in the Slant 6 CofA magazine where someone had put a Barracuda front end on a 64 Dart and called it a Darcuda. Am thinking I might add a Barracuda grille to my 65 Valiant.

Rear looks like '65. Front fender and grill look like 64. Where is the hood release latch located? Is it beneath the hood/above the grill, or behind the emblem on the front of the hood? Below the hood is 64 style, behind the emblem is 65 style. It could have had an accident, during it's life, and had a 64 front end installed. The bolt right on.

Hey Charlie, the hood pic, opens below, sadly that hood has much bondo- i have found a hood that opens at the emblem (no bondo). also what would be needed to put the barracuda grille in? just the 3 pieces & time? I'm currently sending Doc the info on the magazine article 7 he's going to help with the posting, i think you'll get a kick out of it, L

sadly had to sell the 65 convert, if you'll look in the garage(pic of the rear of the 65) you'll see the cover over the project that I need to start/finish it's a 69 dart convertible & I've agreed to get it back together -- so the 65 left . Later

This is how the valiant sits today9/11

Planning on putting in a 225 soon & hopefully getting some fresh paint on someday.
The heater core is being repaired (KS does get cold)
Rear tires are 236/60/14 & really fill out the wheel well

finally put the new rear springs on the ride-- they lifted a bit more than I wanted --but I 'll wait to see if they settle in. Wanted my 235/60's back on the rears--(would cut the tires on bumpy roads old springs)-- that problem is gone

relined the 10" front brakes finally--car would not lock up the wheels-- check all wheel cylinders(dry) master looked damp on fire wall-- swapped that & ruined brake junction box on the frame. found a spare & will attempt to fix the hydraulics sunday 11/04/07----
if brakes still weak will look into disk brakes. Lawrence

You're putting in the effort, and I just love the looks of those 1st G A-bodies. I'm impressed. Good work and keep us updated.

This is the new ride height-- I might have to lower it a bit if it does not settle-- but it works great.
