Good news on the positive interaction with Mike.

I plan on 8.5-9:1 comp with 8-10psi boost, max RPM of 5500 on my 68 Dart street car. Probably set it up for a 5000 RPM redline.

I would turn a bone stock junkyard motor 5000 without worrying too much. Of course, w/o mods, a stock Slant runs outta power at about 4000.

A freshly broken in rebuild with cast pistons but nothing too fancy - about 5500 max. A balanced and well built (good rod bolts, grind off stress risers...) cast-piston rebuild - about 6000 max. Forged pistons and the whole works is uncharted for me, but 6500 should be OK based on others.

The Drakes' turbo Simca runs in the 9s with cast pistons, about 9:1 static comp, 12lbs boost, and never needs to see over 5400 rpm.

Lou

I am shooting for 10 lbs, and 5500 RPM at the top end. But, I am also planning on racing it next year at thishttp://www.silverstateclassic.com/

I am building for the 110 mph class. I have been inspired by Rick E's "green brick" project, with his 69 valiant, and really want to show up at a race with a slightly ratty slant six barracuda, and see what reactions I get.

lou thanks= having no experience with a slant 6 i am feeling kind of lost here. but i will get myself caught up soon enough.

after talking to mike i think i am going to start with a standard t3 since i have a couple laying around here from other cars i have parted out..and see where that gets me // then adjust from there.

you are looking much like my prospective set up. i was thinking around 9 to 9.5 base compression and 7 to 10 psi of boost with an intercooler. for normal driving should run on 93 octane with no detonation at these levels.

if its not enough at that point we can always upgrade.

i dont want to get too crazy im looking for street manners not an all out racer. sort of a sleeper kind of project.

greg that looks like fun. I might have to take a road trip lol. having flashbacks of the autobahn.

when do you need a manifold? i think i have one but it is a few hours away. i may need to go junkyard hopping.
what's the preferred payment? check? uspsmo? paypal? whatever you like to make it easiest

Hi James,

This is where I start to step aside as the coordinator, and let Mike state his preferences.
Quote:
Hi all,

Matt, great question, and worth asking Mike.

Contact info

Mike Holler
3424 Liberty Valley Rd.
Ickesburg, PA 17037
email:
mpgchris<at>yahoo.com

Change the <at> to @. I am trying to save him from a bunch of spam.

Here are his instructions
Typically I inspect parts (usually heads where there is a bunch of stuff to go bad) and let the customer know if there are any "over-and-above" issues, then I get 50%. After work is completed I email pics and ballance is paid. Then part(s) is (are) shipped.

I will need contact info for everybody so I can ask particulars if need be.
Send him an email, and he will work out those details with you. If you want his phone number, PM me, and I will send it to you.

Thanks,

Greg
