Can I use a fuel solenoid from a nitrous kit more than, what, seconds, minutes?

I try to find one that can take continous duty...
Will the nitrous kit parts overheat if used for, like 2 hours? :?

What are going for? Intended usage? I wouldn't expect it to last for constant use.

Filling the float chamber, as the needle/seat on the carter bbd is too small. It goes dry after some seconds at full throttle, and 5-6lbs of boost

I will probably not need it to stay open that long, but I want a bulletproof fuel system.

Ahha, you found out the same thing I did 25 years ago. I even drilled out the seat/inlet fitting untill the needle almost fell through. Still wasn't large enough. How about trying a floatless setup? enlarge the inlet fitting, as much as possible, leave the float and needle out, of the carb. Then put another hole in the float bowl, with the bottom of the hole at the fuel level you want, install a fitting and return the excess fuel from that fitting to the tank.
PS: are you using a blow thru or draw thru system? This method will only work on a draw thru.

It is a blow thru...

I did read about the time you tried this, but I figured I would give it a shot anyway

I have even thought about cutting out the wall around the valve, and put in a wall from a holley, but I haven´t got a holley to measure stuff on, so...

I guess it will be problems with any way, but I know there is at least one person running around with a solenoid and extra line, but I want it to be ultra reliable...

Just make sure you buy a top of the line solenoid. The cheap ones will take a crap after a short time. I have already had one Top Gun solenoid die.

Do you have the fuel pressure referenced to your boost pressure? If you don't, when the pressure on the air in the float bowl becomes greater then the fuel pressure, no fuel will flow into the carb.

How about a different carb?

But, but, but.....

Hey, this isn´t supposed to work, so it has to

I have been thinking about other carbs, but it would be cool to use the bbd, that´s all.

And yes, it is boost referenced to the box.
