Happy New Year all! Can anyone tell me if the screw in axle vent on my 71/4 is the same as one on the 83/4? I am switching to a 71/4 suregrip unit and the one on my existing axle housing looks like it's going to give me grief. The only ones I can find listed are for the 83/4 rear. Are they the same?

As long as it is the screw in vent, it should be the same. Some 7 1/4 housings had a little sheetmetal cover over the vent hole. Congrats on your "find" of a SG for the 7 1/4.
