 Post subject: 7 1/4 plug? torx?

75 7.25 rear. The diff cover drain plug seems to be a very large torx (#70?) anyone know what size? is this stock item? thx

As I recall, the square drive of a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar will fit it. It's been a long time since I've had occasion to take one out but I think that's what i used to do.

I used a 60 Torx driver on my 60 Valiant,

Yep, you can use the 1/2 ratchet, or with an extension. Fits perfectly.

Or if you haven't got a ½"-drive ratchet handy, next time you're at the hardware store grab a ½" square by 3" piece of bar stock and toss it in your toolbox.

My 60 and 61 Valiants had the large Torx plug in them,,,yes I thought it was strange too,but thats what was there.

They are not Torx-head plugs. Torx heads have six flutes; the plug under discussion is a double-square (8-point) socket head plug.
