so with the handling charge the KYBs work out to about 35 bucks each on the pair, 32 and change for 4. not bad shipped to your door and jeg's get their stuff to me quick. sometimes things show up the next day i think that's about what a paid for mine 5 years ago from pst, but had shipping charges on top of that.
i think i'd start combing the junkyards for a factory swaybar though. are these shocks going on that nice red duster of yours, jeb? such a nice car.

Yep, these shocks are going on my Duster. Trying to stop the bouncing and body roll after I go over bump. I need a swaybar but there is no junkyards around here that have any A-bodies in them. I have been looking at the Addco front sway bar kits, they look nice.

By the way, would loose top shock mounts in the rear cause a thunking noise everytime I go over a bump? What is the best way to fix them if they are loose. I've got to take a look at them this afternoon.

if you mean the shock bushings, new ones will come with your KYBs. if youmean the steel section of the unibody, you'll have to find a good bodyshop or welder/fabricator to fix it. any of the bushings in the front end could cause a similar noise, as well as bottoming out over bumps with trashed front shocks.

Well, I crawled underneath the car this afternoon and found this

I don't know if you can see it well in the picture but the upper shock mount has busted loose and beat out a hole in the sheet metal. What is the best way to fix this?

Jeb, if memory serves correctly, that rear mount is a bolt-in.

Also, hard to tell, but your lower shock mount doesn't really look bent in the pic, not that it would be a real big deal if it was.

What made it do this? I had it as tight as I could get it.

Previous owner had a set of coilover shocks on the back so he could pull a trailer. Wonder if that had something to do with it? Been like this ever since I got the car and just know found it.

The coil-overs probably didn't help it much. Did you tighten the shaft in the body, or the nut on the shaft. It's been a long time since I messed with rear shocks on an "a-body", but I think that shaft is accessed from the inside, behind the back seat... or is it in the trunk, I can't remember.
