I noticed last night the hose that runs to my vacuum advance on my distributor is missing. I've looked in my Chilton book but I cannot find anything showing where it would connect to. Anybody have an idea?

There will be a small port on the base of the carb. It should have vacuum only when the trottle is open a little, but not much or any at idle.

If you get really stuck, I'll pop the hood on my wifes car and take a pic, but someone might also have a link to a diagram for you.

Are you sure that your distributor /has/ a vaccuum advance? By '85 most (if not all) of the trucks had switched over to the Spark Control Computer, which had no advance on the distributor.

It is Stryker, to my understanding only a few were produced.

In that case, take your vaccum gauge and find a 'ported' vaccum source on the carb. This is one that is taken above the throttle blades, so vaccuum actually increases with RPM. Run a hose from there to the dist. and you should be in business.
