I haven't been here for awhile, had gall bladder surgery a few weeks ago, and while I was goin thru the diagnosis process, I had a major setback on my race truck project, as in a tree fell on the truck.
The cage did a great job!!! Although it did damage it, if I had been in the truck at the time, it would have been a-ok for me!!!!
So I am goin to plan B.
I bought a 53 Anglia!....it already has a 2x3 chassis, and moly tubing bent for a cage. mounts were made for a small block chebby. no front suspension yet, plan on using tubular lower arms/struts, as this was originally a strut car. It looks like mid eighties mustang struts will work.
Rear end is a narrowed 9 in ford w/4.10 gears/spool. measures 38 in drum to drum..It has a 4 link suspension w/coilovers.
now here is the kicker.
The measurement from the back side of the core support to the original firewall location is 18 1/2 inches!....I removed the firewall last night, will be dummying up the slant/904 this weekend.
Hope to have it together by late season for testing. Hoping to be well under 2000 pounds wet.
