pulled a raditor from a 68 dart 270, its thicker than the one in my 73' scamp 225, but it has all the same connections of course. Is there going to be much of a difference in the bigger radiator besides the fact that im going to need to drill new holes to mount it?

cool, i was able to bolt it right in without out having to make new holes!! exciting.....I figured bigger = better. So basicly that just means more cooling power = easier on the engine since its cooler = maybe better gas milease and other small tidbits of such?

I don't profess to know all there is to know about pressure caps but I do know of a couple of things they do for you if combined with an overflow recapture system. First, the pressure in the system raises the boiling point of the coolant so that it remains a liquid; liquid coolant will transfer heat, vaporized coolant will not. That in turn allows the engine run hotter which, up to a point, makes for better fuel vaporization and more complete combustion which increases power and economy and reduces emissions. The other thing it does for you if you keep your overflow bottle properly filled, is eliminate air in the system which reduces corrosion and makes the cooling system operate more efficiently. Air is an insulator and air bubbles in the coolant stream insulate it from the heat transfer surfaces of the engine and radiator, reducing the effectiveness of the coolant.

alright! thanks much!! I just did a system flush as well when I replaced my radiator. It was my first thorough flush since I got the car over 2 years ago! Forgot to fill the overflow canister with fluid. I shall be on that soon. Thanks again everyone!
