Put a Holley 390 (#2464) on my slant. Runs good, but when it is hot it drips fuel . One time I noticed it dripping under the throttle shaft.
The next time I thought it might be leaking under the secondary metering block (not plate). Aside from obviously checking the tightness of the fuel bowls (which I think I must have done originally), what should I be looking for when I tear it down?

...and that was your first big mistake! :P

I bet it's the needle/seat and it's flooding. when gas overflows it usually runs down the "barrels" and seeps out the throttle shafts.

Also sounds like it could be a leaking power valve... you install the anti-blowout kit? If not, I highly reccomend it the next time you have it apart.

One other reason for boiling out the mains is a hot spot, if the thing runs fine during cold weather, or during the warm up cycle and doesn't boil over after a short hop...it can be the above...if you get it during a heat soak (long ride/ lots of in town traffic) then shut it off and it pukes because the gas is boiling out the bowl and has no place to go but the path of least resistance...then you need to work on a phenolic spacer or pull the manifold heat flap and see what happens...

(This is where a TQ might shine because it's a plastic bodied carb...)

Seen that before...

Rick, where have you got the floats adjusted at? You should just be able to see the fuel at the bottom of the sight hole, it should not be running out at all.
