hi all-
can anyone out there tell me if the early (60-62) valiant/lancer transmission crossmembers are interchangeable with the '63-'66 pieces?
thanks!

Interchange groups are:

'60-'61 only
'62-'66 only
'67-'72 only
'73-'76 only (though maybe this can be installed on '67-'72).

thanks, dan. good to know. i was talking to the guy who makes those bolt-in driveshaft loops yesterday. he showed me a prototype for the '63-'66 cars and i wondered if they would fit the earlier models. i'll pass it along.

Oh, are you just talking about bolt pattern? In that case, the '60-'61 may accept the same item used for '62-'66. I don't know for sure.

yes, the bolt pattern, but also the shape/style of mountis important as well. the crossmember would need to be pretty much flat across the sction between the two middle bolts to accept the mounting plate for the loop. for example, i tried to use one on my '70 swinger but it wouldn't work because of my '74 crossmember and mount make for a thicker section than the area of the member where it bolts to the body.
