They aren't exactly the same. The locating dowels for the trans are in the wrong position and about half of the bolts line up. There are Hemi's that do have the LA V8 Pattern but they are highly sort after.
Good info, thanks for the correction. Wow, can't imagine why CAL didn't make 'em all with the LA bolt pattern!

Ain't that the truth.

I'm using a Rodshop adaptor on mine, it was $350AUS and it works very nicely.

Car companies were encouraged to use Australian made content in their cars back then (nowadays they don't give a hoot) and so they used locally produced Borg Warner transmissions behind the hemi sixes except in some cases where extreme driving or towing might be an issue, such as with police cars and caravan haulers. Given that the Borg Warner 35 has a removable bell housing it would have been no trouble at all to have the bell housings cast up with a torqueflite pattern rather than the pattern they used. This would have meant a common bellhousing across all Aussie Chrysler sixes and V8's (big blocks weren't available in Australia except for the Dodge Phoenix, and they stopped using Slants in 1970) and less complexity in manufacturing. Common sense really, but who said common sense was actually "common".

I've got a few of the 265's and a 245 here in So.Cal. if anyone is ever looking for one.
Keep a few parts for them as well usually. Have a six-pack one in my Charger, and got a VG coupe on the way (should be here in about 5 weeks) with a stock standard 245/auto in it as well :D
