I ended up making down to the track late afternoon and it was overcast and humid but i made seven passes. The first four I couldn't get the car to hook up and ran multiple passes in the nines. Unfortunately I went down to the track by myself so I ended up asking some of the other racers what was happening with the car and they informed me I was spinning bad. So I dropped some tire pressure, and stayed in the box abit longer to try and heat the tires up on the fifth pass I ran 8.3 at 87.38 mph and.8923 reaction. On the last two passes I felt were my best passes but they ran out of timeslip paper....HOW I DONT NO????? but it was late and there wasn't but a hand full of racers left at that point. So I decided to call it a night but i wasn't at my best today and I couldn't get comfortable in the seat. But there always next time

Im hoping this week to get a buddy to take some video of me pulling a hole shot or two so I can see just what's happening with the car

Aaron
That is fantastic, Aaron! Your 87 mph in the eighth computes to a 108mph quarter-mile with only 12 pounds of boost. The e.t. shows your traction problem, because the Wallace Computer online e.t. calculator says that a 13.3-second e.t. really should be a 12.77 for the MPH you're turning.

I told you it would FLY!!!! :)

I can't wait to see what it does on a VHT-treated strip with some more boost.... maybe 15 pounds!

Now, go out and find some 340s to pick on... LOL!

I lived in Tally for a while in 2010. Talk about a party town. I worked at Sumo-Sabi, loved going to first Friday. All the bars with all you can drink beer...I had to get out of there to clear my head hahahaha

Thanks All this little car is a blast to drive it has a ton of torque and the potential is unlimited its getting a full 3 inch exhaust to the. Bumper today no muffler. I'm going to have to put some kind of a evac system on it or a vacuum pump setup, im getting some blow by and high crank case pressure.

Tom at what rpm does your car react the best coming out of the hole and how much boost are you launching at.

Aaron

Aaron,

I've only been to the track once. I launched at 8psi. It was hard to hold the car back at that point. A trans brake might be in order however I'm still going old school and foot braking.

Once on boost it comes on real fast! The convertor is a 175k and should stall about 2500rpm behind a big block. I"ve made it stall 3400rpm easy.

Thanks for the info is your one track outing with the new motor? I'm getting ready to start building a long rod motor in the winter. I hope to have it in the car by spring.
Do you have some sort of two step hooked up, I no on my first outing I was having problems holding the car back at 3000 rpm but since I hooked up my two step for launch that wasn'ta issue this last time. I'm starting think my problem was more a lack of seat time then anything I never got comfortable staging the car and once id get it staged and start to. Bring the rpms up the lite was green.......

Well keep us posted and thanks for all the help
Aaron
