I am at test n tune again tonite.

Trying some small changes. Did not pick up any time going to 28⁰ from 30⁰ so I will go back to 30⁰ timing.
Car still is missing something. Likley horsepower on the top end. Maybe it's the converter but i am not trying another one of those currently. I will leave the cam and Edge converter in it for Clay City.

Unfortunately I do not have the time or energy to swap back to the the other (2009-2025) camshaft right now.
I may go back to a set of 28 x10 rear slick tires from 29x11's which is what it has mounted now. I also can toss the 4.88's in there too and see if that may make any difference.

Well, at least I know how to make it faster than what it is now!

It might just not happen for this year.

9/5/26:

Lots of storms and damage here over the last 2.5 days. Never lost power at the shop, but power came on again here at the house today, then a transformer fire across the street from the neighbors provided a pole top hiway emenrgnecy flare for a few minutes. Nice non 4th of July fireworks show.

I am going back to 28" x 10" x 15" rear slicks to see if there are any gains to be had. I know that I likley need to take this cam out and swap back to what I had or work on another grind altogether as this one is ~.0.5 - 0.75 Seconds Slower than what I was working with before.

Some tire Comparisons:

29 x 11 Slicks Installed:

28 X 10 Slicks Installed:

I never weighed the 29" slicks when they were new.
When they came off, one tire was 24#, the other one was 25#

The new Hoosier 28 x 10's were also 24# each before mounting them.

Good progress, Greg. I am getting new 26X8.5-15 radial slicks mounted today for the 62 Valiant for Clay City.

I am mystified by the cam grind performance. I have to wonder if something went wrong with the cam grinding or?? Look forward to chatting at CC.
