Ah i see your point. Can't be loud enough for me . I have super 40s, optional cutouts and a loud stereo. (no subs or any of that buisness) but i can hear it well over my open headers on the freeway. My exhaust is dumped at the rear end with a h-pipe. The resonance isnt bad at all for me..

Like I said, I've compared my particular slant to several other cars, two dual exhaust ones, and for whatever reason, the resonance inside is just hell at that range. Honestly I'm not a pin drop quiet kind of person, but the muffler is so loud you can't even hear the windows whistle. My wife and I can't talk at those speeds, its that bad. It would be fine for a car that doesn't get driven around all that much, but any extended time on the freeway just sucks.

Is the noise making its way thru the muffler body, then thru the floor boards????????

If that's the case, I'm wondering if heat shields could be placed between the muffler and the floor to act as a sound reflector...... if that works, would a heat shield that has some insulating qualities (like the ones for starters) work even better......... hmmmmm........

Not to hijack Jeb's thread, but I'm going to guess that yes, its it resonating through the floor boards and from the back. But I've not really had a good way to isolate that since I'm behind the wheel Maybe I'll get my wife to drive and I can crawl around at 55 mph and see. I'd be happy to find a way to shut it up! I've thought about a resonator, but of course if it actually is coming through the floorboards, that's not going to help much.
